How to Back Up Photos From a Phone

Know what the backup includes
Photo apps may upload camera images but skip screenshots, edited copies, shared albums, videos, or folders from other applications. Read the service settings and identify which account receives the files. Check storage limits, original-quality options, deletion behavior, and whether removing a photo from the phone also removes the cloud copy.
Use a trusted network and power source for a large first upload. Keep the phone connected until the service reports completion. Open photos from another device or the provider's web view and check different dates, videos, and recent images. A progress bar is not proof that every file is available.
Keep a copy you control
For irreplaceable photos, export a second copy to a computer or external drive and keep it separate from the phone. Organize by date or event before the collection becomes overwhelming. Protect the account with strong authentication and review who can access shared albums.
